TLD (Top-Level Domain)
The final label of a domain name — .com, .io, .ai, .net — defining which registry's namespace it belongs to.
.com remains the default for global commerce; country codes (ccTLDs) like .ai and .io developed tech-industry second lives. Extension choice changes a name's buyer pool, renewal cost and resale liquidity.
