Premium Renewal

A registry-set renewal price far above the standard rate for that extension, attached permanently to specific “premium-tier” names.

Common on new gTLDs and some ccTLDs: the $8 name that renews at $400 forever. Checking renewal tier before buying is basic diligence — premium renewals quietly destroy hold economics.
