Glossary

gTLD

A generic top-level domain — extensions like .com, .net, .org, plus the hundreds of newer strings (.app, .xyz, .tech) introduced since 2013.

Legacy gTLDs carry decades of trust; new gTLDs trade that for keyword fit and availability. Aftermarket liquidity remains heavily concentrated in .com.
