Cybersquatting
Registering or using a domain in bad faith to profit from someone else's trademark — the conduct UDRP and anti-cybersquatting laws target.
The line is intent and distinctiveness: investing in generic words is legitimate; registering misspellings of brands to ransom them is not. Professional investors stay far from the line because one dispute can outcost years of sales.
